Survey Junkie UK: review and guide
Survey Junkie has been one of the most popular survey sites in the US for years, and it’s finally available for those in the UK. As a UK resident I’ve been unable to use Survey Junkie in the past, so I was excited to give it a go and see how it compares to other sites.
Survey Junkie: A Quick overview
Survey Junkie is a popular survey platform where people can share their opinions with various brands and receive rewards. It’s an online market research community, owned by DISQO, a leading consumer insights platform that provides data and analytics to the market research industry.
Survey Junkie serves as a link between brands and consumers. Hundreds of well-known brands utilize their insights to understand their customers better and enhance their products and services. They have over 20 million members and a high Trustpilot rating.
Getting started with Survey Junkie UK involves a simple sign-up process. You’ll need to provide some basic information such as your name, email, postcode, and date of birth. Once your email address is confirmed and your profile created, daily survey matches, along with their associated point values and estimated completion times, are displayed on your dashboard. The more surveys you complete, the more you can earn.
Members earn points for completing surveys and unlike a lot of sites, even a unsuccessful attempt can earn you a few points. Accumulating 500 points, equivalent to £5, allows you to cash out viaPayPal.
Who can join Survey Junkie UK?
If you’re 18 years or older and you live in the United Kingdom, you’re able to join Survey Junkie UK. You get 25 points for signing up.
If you live in the US, you can join Survey Junkie US.
How do you join Survey Junkie?
Becoming a member of Survey Junkie in the UK is pretty simple and straightforward. You just need a valid email address. After signing up, Survey Junkie will ask you to fill in a short profile about yourself.
This is done so they can match you with the most relevant surveys. You’ll earn 50 points for completing this initial questionnaire.
Why would Survey Junkie pay people for taking surveys?
Your opinions are like nuggets of gold to research and survey sites like Survey Junkie. Each year, businesses spend millions to understand what their customers want.. By filling out surveys, you provide valuable insights that help these companies make smarter product and service decisions. In return for your help, Survey Junkie is more than happy to reward you.
How do you earn points on Survey Junkie?
You can earn points by completing surveys and filling out profile questionnaires. Any action that can get you points will clearly show the number of points you can earn next to it.
What are points worth and how do you redeem them?
It’s pretty simple. 500 points are worth £5. You need a minimum of 500 points before you can cash out via PayPal. Once you reach this mark, a “Redeem” button will appear on your main surveys page.
Points are displayed on the main surveys page, inside the cash-out wheel.
When you redeem your points, most transactions are processed immediately, however it can take up to 24 hours. If you haven’t received your rewards after this time, then you can contact customer support from inside your account.
If you don’t log in and complete a survey for 12 months, your points will be forfeited, so it’s best to check in regularly.
Can you redeem your points for anything else?
Unfortunately, at the moment Paypal is the only option for UK users. Compared to other survey sites that offer multiple payment types, this is a little disappointing as it rules out those without a PayPal account.
Getting started on Survey Junkie
After signing up and completing your profile, you can start taking surveys right away.
Each survey that can earn you points will show how many points it’s worth. After you complete it, Survey Junkie will add those points to your account.
Once you’ve accumulated 500 points (equivalent to £5), you can redeem them for cash through PayPal – you can choose to cash out immediately or save up for a bigger reward.
I always recommend cashing out as soon as you can on survey sites, just in case anything should happen or the site closes down.
How long does it take to complete a survey?
Surveys vary in length, but Survey Junkie suggests you can expect to spend around 15 minutes on each one.
How often do you get new surveys?
Survey Junkie adds new surveys every day, so it’s worth logging in daily to see what’s available.
How much does Survey Junkie UK pay?
Based on the surveys I’ve had available to me in my dashboard, it seems that Survey Junkie pays on average about 25p per 10 minute survey – a pretty poor rate of pay for the time taken.
Of course, you may get the odd survey that pays better – I’ve just had one worth 15 points for 4 minutes – so some surveys may be more worth a try than others.
Luckily it shows you the estimated time each survey will take to complete, along with the points you’ll earn, so you can decide whether you think it’s worth it to complete.
Survey Junkie UK – my quick review
My initial impression of Survey Junie for UK users is that it’s underwhelming.
Surveys don’t pay especially well, there are no extra ways to earn or bonuses available and the payout options are very limited.
Hopefully in time things will be improved for UK users – after all, they’re a very highly regarded site for those in the US and have excellent Trustpilot reviews!
In the meantime it’s worth signing up to see what you think for yourself, but i’d recommend joining alongside other sites as well.
Other survey sites for UK users that really do pay well are Y.Live – which pays £1 per 15 minutes – and Prolific – earnings vary but some studies pay pretty well.
