Sweatcoin review: Does Sweatcoin really work?
You might have heard of Sweatcoin among the trend of money making apps that pay you to walk. But is Sweatcoin legit or a scam?
We’ve been using the Sweatcoin app for quite a few months now to see what all the fuss was about, so here’s an up to date Sweatcoin review discussing how it works, how to use it and if it’s actually worth it.
Spoiler: you won’t get rich from walking using Sweatcoin, but you can earn yourself some free rewards and it’s great for encouraging a more active lifestyle.
What is Sweatcoin?
Sweatcoin is a fast growing health app that rewards you in its own currency (Sweatcoins) for walking. You can then use the Sweatcoins you’ve earned to buy rewards from the Sweatcoin Marketplace.
Sweatcoin was created with the aim to help people get motivated to move more.
Where is Sweatcoin available?
Sweatcoin is available in many countries globally, including the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Philippines, Israel and much of Europe.
How does Sweatcoin work?
Sweatcoin works by using the inbuilt features of your smartphone such as the accelerometer and GPS to track your steps using its algorithm. Once verified, your steps then get converted into Sweatcoins.
Sweatcoin conversion
1000 steps = 1 Sweatcoin
Generally, approximately 1000 steps convert to 1 Sweatcoin, however Sweatcoin do take a 5% commission, so you’ll actually end up with 0.95 Sweatcoins per 1000 steps taken. 10,000 steps a day would earn you 9.5 Sweatcoins.
How to use Sweatcoin
To use Sweatcoin, all you need to do is download and install the app. The Sweatcoin app is available for both Android and iPhone devices.
Once you’ve installed the app, just set up your profile and leave it on in the background and it will automatically work to count your steps as you go about your day.
Does Sweatcoin count indoor steps?
Yes, Sweatcoin now counts indoor steps too. Whilst in the past you could only earn Sweatcoin when walking outside, if you have an Android device or iPhone 7 or newer your indoor steps will also be counted.
How to earn Sweatcoins
There are 3 main ways to earn Sweatcoins. The first is simply by walking.
Once you’ve downloaded the app and created an account you’ll start earning Sweatcoin by walking. Sweatcoin’s algorithm will automatically count your steps and convert them into Sweatcoins.
